Democratic and Republican percentages in the comparison card, vote-type chart and municipality table use two-party vote share — each party's votes divided by the combined DEM + REP total only. The year cards show every candidate's share of all votes.
DEM% = DEM votes ÷ (DEM votes + REP votes) × 100
Swing shows how much a party's two-party share changed between the two selected years, in percentage points (pp). A green badge means the party gained share; a dark badge means it lost share. In the municipality table, Shift shows the same change once, labeled with the party it moved toward.
Swing = DEM% (Year B) − DEM% (Year A)
Ballots cast counts each physical ballot once regardless of how many races are on it. Votes refers to votes for a specific candidate in a specific race. The Ballots columns in the municipality table use ballots cast — not the sum of candidate votes.
Turnout reflects participation in the election as a whole, measured across the precincts that had the selected race on the ballot.
Turnout % = Total ballots cast ÷ Registered voters × 100
